For my final project, I will be focusing on my my superhero Brantford Titansworth, who I created out of inspiration earlier this semester who has been continually developing throughout the semester. Brantford will save Fredericksburg from disaster after the iconic bridge collapses after a massive earthquake shook the east coast, specifically Stafford county. Brantford is conveniently located in downtown enjoying a Natural Light beer and a slice of pizza at Benny’s a train scheduled to pass over within the hour. Nothing can be done to stop the ultimate nightmare…except for Brantford. My hero possesses an insurmountable amount of strength and will single handedly bring the train to a grinding halt, just before the train falls of the edge into the river. I like to imagine this visually, like the scene from Spiderman 2 where Spiderman brings the metro rail to a halt after Doctor Octopus blows a connection between the tracks. In this scene, Spiderman displays his demeanor as a character in which he deploys all his strength to save countless lives. In my imagined scene, there will be a sense of panic brewing on the streets of Downtown Fredericksburg; Brantford hears people in the street panicking in the streets after the earthquake and immediately thinks of the bridge. Brantford runs to the edge of the hill and sees a massive collapse in the foundation of the bridge, which would lead to the derailment of any train that passes through. He quickly runs to the base of the rappahanock river, and navigates through the woods to the base of the bridge, opposite of downtown Fredericksburg. Brantford can hear and feel the train coming, so he braces himself and flexes his muscles (like the hulk) to prepare himself to bring a freight train to a grinding halt before its derailment. He sees the train turn the corner, and plants his feet between the metal bars in the tracks and braces for impact. He extends his arms as the train approaches, and upon contact extends a roaring boom/shockwave which can be heard across Fredericksburg. The train has come to a steaming halt, and a human shaped figure has been indented at the front of the train. Brantford Emerges from the compression and shakes off his shoulders and simply walks away, unharmed.
